Pros: Like in all other tech megacorps, compensation is above market, especially at senior positions.

Cons: The primary objective is shipping features on time, no matter how much overtime, stress, or bugs will be caused by it. Internal tools are trash. The errors are cryptic, and the UI is buggy. People who wrote the tools have largely moved on to working on other things, so the problems will likely never get fixed. Internal docs are trash. Half of the info is missing, and half of the info that is present is outdated. On-call rotation sucks hard. Everyone on my team dreaded it. There are things breaking every 20 minutes, you get bombarded by problem reports and requests to fix stuff without nearly enough time to handle them all. Overall, the work environment is not friendly or enjoyable by any means. Most people are so stressed out about their own projects that they won't be willing to help you unless you keep bugging them over and over. Approval processes suck. You can easily spend the entire day going back and forth with approvals when trying to get a deployment done. Their leadership principles sound nice. Too bad in practice they aren't adhered to.

Pros: Work with the best in the industry. No swipe in/swipe out.

Cons: Relatively poor pay compared to other giants like MS, Google, etc. But the pay is better than other low- to average-ranged orgs.

Pros: 1. Work is generally very challenging and impactful. You will have the opportunity to work with many great senior and principal engineers who have extensive experience designing large-scale systems and services. 2. The culture involves pretty tight deadlines driven by business needs. You will have to balance your operational load with your feature work to meet these deadlines. All the work will have great visibility among senior leadership, leading to excellent growth opportunities. 3. The company has a strong history of building robust, scalable, and highly durable businesses and business models. Bezos's S-Team is supremely experienced and has successfully built a great work culture and robust businesses. 4. Completely urban campus! Regular happy hours! Free cereal and snacks! Monthly phone and parking reimbursement! You also get swag much more often than you might think! ;-)

Cons: 1. Tight deadlines and sometimes operational responsibilities can get heavy because of the scale at which Amazon operates. 2. You won't have the great perks that some other companies have, like free food and all, but you have great food trucks and free cereal and snacks to compensate for that!
