Pros: I enjoyed my times at Supply Chain Optimization Tech (SCOT), especially the opportunity to work with engineering, data scientists, and business. It was fun to translate business problems into mathematical/statistical formulations and then into engineering. Pretty good work-life balance.
Cons: Most of the complexity of work is "businessy" (understanding the requirements, getting everyone aligned) and not really technical. It's not for everyone.

Pros: Amazon is a place where people go to build their career, climb the ladder, and push each other relentlessly. If you want to improve your skillset, you'll do so here.
Cons: There is no positive feedback, no pat on the back. Perfection is expected but never actually achievable. You will never be good enough here. The predominant culture is fear-based, using intimidation and subtle forms of humiliation to enforce processes and drive workers tirelessly.
