Process

A recruiter reached out on LinkedIn. Following that, there was a quick HR phone screen, covering basic introductions and past projects.

Next was an online assessment with coding problems and soft skills questions.

This was followed by a 45-minute technical phone screen, focusing on data structures, problem-solving, and algorithms (analyzing algorithm complexity).

The onsite interview consisted of four sessions: three technical and one behavioral.

The technical interviews included coding in the language of choice. Questions were LeetCode tagged and covered topics such as binary search, linked lists, and data structures. Debugging was not overly difficult; it's important to be sure of your approach and minimize complexity.

For system design, there was a question about designing Amazon Music.

The behavioral interview focused on Amazon's Leadership Principles. This is important; I'd read about it on Blind and Reddit earlier, and an Amazon coach on Prepfully (during a mock interview) shared the same advice. I used the STARR framework for structured answers.

The total compensation was in line with expectations, and I accepted the offer.
