Software Engineer Interview Experience - United Kingdom

Process

The first step was an online assessment, consisting of two coding problems (equivalent to one easy and one medium LeetCode problem) and a multiple-choice questionnaire about behavioral and system design.

The second step was a phone screening with one medium coding problem, followed by behavioral questions.

The third step was the same: a phone screening with a medium coding problem, followed by behavioral questions. I did not pass this stage, but I believe after that comes the "on-site" interview.

The interview problems and structure were as expected, but it was disappointing that they provided zero feedback, especially given the time invested in preparation.

Questions

1st phone screening: modified 2Sum

2nd phone screening:

  • Coding: determine if a graph has a cycle
  • Behavioural: i) What are you most proud of? ii) What's the most innovative you've done?
