One of my biggest challenges was learning programming when I was newly enrolled in my PhD study. Before, I had only used commercial software during my bachelor's and master's studies, and I didn't even know Linux. When I noticed myself feeling confused, I tried to calm down and make a plan for learning programming. I also reached out for help from my supervisor and senior team colleagues for practice.
Finally, I successfully completed my class projects using Fortran code and supported several research projects in modeling and simulating engineering problems using C++. Additionally, the major modeling and simulation on fluid flow and heat transfer in my PhD thesis were conducted using C++-based in-house CFD codes.
