Software Engineer Interview Experience

Process

I received an assessment from Amazon and soon after that, I got a mail to schedule the final loop interview.

The only problem was that I didn't know if it was an SDE1 or SDE2 interview, since I had four rounds.

I mailed my recruiters multiple times, but no one replied. Then, I asked a friend who works at Amazon to check internally, and I found out it's an SDE2 role.

I got cold feet, as I was preparing for SDE1 based on my level of experience.

So, during the prep call, I talked with the host and mentioned that I felt SDE1 (L4) was more suited for me and also how my recruiters were not replying to my emails.

She then asked if I had graduated within the last 24 months, and when I said yes, she stated she would contact my recruiter and mail her.

Following this, my recruiter, out of the blue, canceled my interview without even asking me and told me she would try to schedule an SDE1 interview.

After that, she ghosted me. I contacted her several times, but she didn't even reply.

I know I should have gone with the SDE2 interview, but I thought they might have the power to schedule me a new grad SDE1 interview since I graduated in the last 12 months.

My recruiter had no right to cancel my interview without even asking me or scheduling another interview.

Worst recruiters, with no decency to reply to mail.
