Pros: Pay is great. Sometimes there is a break. Generally, managers are understanding and do want to help you.
Cons: There's no single point of authority. My first team was great since it was smaller, but I'm now in a larger department where there is constant iteration since engineers think they have all the say in every decision.

Pros: Too many managers put their noses into our skills, which they know nothing about.
Cons: Where to start? For a start, it's a terrible place if you want to progress. Go elsewhere, that would be my advice.
