Pros: Really great, professional experience. Had a blast with my amazing and understanding team and manager.

Cons: Return to office is miserable, and Amazon doesn’t make it easy or necessarily incentivize it.

Pros: I learned a lot working with a team.

Cons: Huge database and steep learning curve

Pros: You get exposed to a lot of great code and learn how to learn quickly on your own.

Cons: Internships at Amazon are hit or miss. It really just depends on which team you get placed on. Overall, expect to work many, many hours, not sleep very much, and have limited to no guidance. My assigned mentor ghosted me for weeks, and since it is all virtual, it is really easy to do. Team reorganization is another thing to worry about, along with a high turnover rate. My manager quit right when I started my internship. Just in general, you are on your own at Amazon. Don't expect a team experience here; expect a project, meetings you will attend but not be a part of, and little to no guidance. People who work at Amazon seem to be more about themselves, getting promotions, and mentoring just so they can get promoted. That is just the Amazon way; they just care if you can get the work done. If you get the job, you get paid well, but you will not have a life. Again, I am sure there are exceptions, but this seems to be the norm.
