- My publication record went down at Amazon; I wasn't passing as a researcher anymore. It was a step down for my career.
- Promotions are horrifically hard to get. Don't even try it if you still want to have a life outside the office.

Amazon Interview Experiences
Applied Science
The experience was easy and friendly. They asked generic questions about coding and my experience from my CV. They also asked basic machine learning questions related to the team's research area. Overall, it was a nice experience.
Software Internship
Applied, waited a while, got OA, two-question LC med, final round behavioral + LC easy. Waitlisted then got off the waitlist. Pretty chill process, maybe somewhat RNG with interviewer. Chill process overall.
Software Engineer
It was easy and to the point. The interviewer was sweet and allowed me enough time to think about how to approach solving the problems. The coding question asked was for an inventory and managing it. It was an easy solve with the right data structure
