Like all jobs, it truly comes down to a site-based experience. While I have loved my time at AWS, it is because I have had two wonderful managers and a team that is on the same wavelength as me. Very flexible as a company, though, and willing to get you moved if you do not like it.

The level of work that you are expected to put out is much higher than at other companies, so if you were to move laterally to them, you would likely be placed at a higher position within that company. AWS is the gold standard in this industry.

I have heard horror stories of other sites run by managers who should not be in those positions.

Pay is good for the area, but could be better. Two companies are known to pay more and offer more benefits (rhymes with beta, and Boogle).
