A lot of intelligent people are around. You can learn about high-concurrency systems, scaling, and troubleshooting them. It is truly a customer-obsessed company, but not an employee-obsessed one. There are lots of projects. Pay is decent.

This frugal concept makes your chances slim to learn new stuff and features. Mostly DBA time goes into moving the database from one box to another due to hardware issues.
Clearly, there is no future for DBAs and Support Engineers in Amazon.
