DIY suits some, but not all. It's a fast-paced environment that hinges on you teaching yourself many aspects of the job. Yes, you'll have trainers and people who advocate for your success, but at the end of the day, your success at this company depends upon your ability to fend for yourself. Unfortunately, this can have a negative cultural effect, perpetuated by some bad actors who won't hesitate to steal a project in order to stamp it on their resume. Caveat: the good outweighs the bad here.
Step up the culture of ownership. It's slipping, and it will turn around (or decline further) based on your example.
