The pay was higher than most jobs I've been to, but it's not exactly great.
Absolutely crazy metrics. 99.33% accuracy and 12 seconds to respond to each job. Even the slightest mistake got you in trouble with your supervisors; it was a humiliating nightmare. They also shared all of your scores publicly to put on more pressure.
The benefits weren't nearly as good as explained, and they were planning on firing me only a few months in. They use you and boot you off when they no longer need you.
They call their employees "Amazonians," which is a derogatory slang term towards the indigenous residents of the Amazon rainforest, for a company with no relation to Brazil. Never work at Amazon, at any position, unless you want to be treated like a robot.
I wouldn't have quit unless the metrics were bearable. 95% accuracy and ~20 speed would've been tolerable. But 99.33% and 12 seconds was impossible.
It was easy, and the interviewer was very good. He completely understood when I got confused because that was my first interview. He tried to calm me down and made a comfortable space where I could answer well.
Fill out the form on the Amazon Jobs website. You will then take an aptitude test. If you pass, you'll be eligible for a virtual interview. All communication will be via email.
The Amazon interview process includes an online assessment, followed by one or more rounds of technical or operational interviews. These interviews focus on skills, problem-solving, and behavioral questions based on leadership principles.
