Pros

Nice salary and RSU benefits.

Learning from others.

Thinking big.

Traveling opportunities.

Cons

The worst company to work for in the learning and development area. There is a huge discrepancy in salaries of employees who are doing the same job. In hyperculture, you are expected to check email after 9 p.m. Ninety percent of senior leaders in L&D have no clue about learning science, learning technology, or adult learning theory, but they make all of the strategic decisions without consulting with SMEs. An ex-prison guard was recently appointed to oversee the training of 1.7 million warehouse associates.

Advice to Management

If you want to save Amazon from disintegration, take learning culture seriously, instead of appointing ex-prison guards as a training head. Instead, hire professional L&D leaders from the industry. Employee experience is getting worse by the day.
