Sounds cliché, but they really do give you freedom to innovate

Pros

I have yet to encounter any of the obstacles blocking innovation that I've seen at previous companies. There's a real freedom to explore ideas, so long as it is done within the Bezos framework that they train you in early. And it's hard to argue against the leadership principles they emphasize so often - Amazon has become one of the world's leading companies using these philosophies.

Cons
  • IT across offices isn't as strong as I assumed it would be (flaky Wi-Fi connection, often).
  • Leadership wants to move to at least 3 days a week in office from May 2023 onward. Seems a bit overkill; at least twice a week seems like the right number to me.
Advice to Management

Keep on keeping on. I recommend reconsidering the move to 3 days per week in the office. This may stifle some people's workflow and result in less innovation, not to mention increase stress levels across the organization.

(In my mind, an upcoming week with 2 days of dealing with UK trains just feels better than 3 days of dealing with UK trains...)
