Internally, behind the technology proposition, the organization needs to mature. Not everyone meets the bar for Amazon expectations, and their internal policies, particularly HR, are antiquated and not set up for a modern and future business.
Identify the deadwood who do not meet the Amazon bar and deal with them. Modernize your internal HR processes, including leave and time off, which are weak. Create a more flexible approach to promoting people and sharpen up the organization's consulting skills and disciplines toward customers and partners. Finally, although everyone is a leader, provide stronger leadership in middle management and downward. Promoting people to managers does not make them managers.
