This company is tackling so many complex engineering projects and has some of the smartest people in the world.
There's so much technical knowledge to gain. I absolutely loved that.
I had unstable management during my time there. I'm not sure if that's indicative of a larger issue within the company, but I've heard similar things from other people as well. This was a problem for me because I was new to the industry and was unsure of how to advance my career.
It was also difficult to find a mentor in QA. I was assigned one on the team, but because of the heavy workload and lack of a direct manager, they never had time to meet. I was able to ask questions and get help on the fly, but there were no regular meetings with a company veteran who showed me the ropes.
This is just my particular experience. Others have had the completely opposite. I happened to join a team right at the beginning of a major expansion. We were growing from a start-up team to a full-fledged engineering organization. While this was super exciting, it wasn't the best place for a newby to tech.
