Pros
  • Innovative and progressive thinking company.
  • SUPER strong culture; it permeates through the walls.
  • Will push your comfort level boundaries and force you to grow professionally and personally.
  • Fast-paced environment with lots of moving parts - never was bored!
  • Exposure to some of the smartest people in the world.
  • Ability to get involved across teams and gain visibility at levels that are unattainable at other similarly sized companies.
Cons
  • The work tends to grind you into the ground; the burnout rate is quite high.
  • Lots of churn: new people on new teams on a pretty frequent basis.
  • Lack of dissemination of information: information gets stuck at a certain level and doesn't filter through to teams who would benefit from knowing such.
  • During peak time (Q3 and Q4), say goodbye to your social life.
Advice to Management

Jeff Bezos is, arguably, a modern-day genius. His innovation and vision of what Amazon can and will be is unparalleled. His actions are intentional, even when others do not see the final vision. I was lucky to watch some all-hands meetings, and hearing him speak really motivates you to do something great.
