I've been part of the Amazon Locations team as a Quality Specialist for 4+ years.
There's no scope for any promotions here, as most of the previous promotion slots were "donated" to incompetent candidates. Now, the management is trying to do damage control by tempering expectations.
Instead of bringing in external managers, promotions should be encouraged from within the team. External managers will never have the required understanding and will be prone to giving half-baked decisions.
