"Customer obsession," whether for internal teams or external customers, is the watchword of Amazon, and when people live up to it, it's truly a joy. The leadership principles are not mere words but driving forces for our technical and business decisions.
I haven't come across any discrimination or outright rude behavior that some people attribute to Amazon. Completing work on time and how much you spend per day is in your hands. So is your career progression, though your manager will help you.
Some people may not truly live up to the leadership principles and sadly don't leave either, which is an odd situation. For example, some teams working in silos and saying "it's not my job."
Look at percolating leadership principles at all levels and actions, and hold teams that avoid doing so responsible.
Apart from that, you are awesome people keeping up the Amazonian culture.
