Surrounded by awesome people, lots of learning opportunities, a decent salary and stock package.
Underpowered company laptop and internal tools that make for a very frustrating day-to-day work experience. Benefits package below market for my area.
Stop trying to save $1000-2000 per employee by offering such crappy hardware and internal tooling. Many internal tools look, feel, and behave like they were set up 20 years ago.
With 8GB RAM, the company laptop is always low on memory and swapping. I'm often reluctant to open my IDE and am always forced to close applications to avoid my computer from hanging.
At my current salary and billable hourly rate, I've probably wasted an order of magnitude more money waiting for this computer. Not to mention that it's frustrating the heck out of me, as there's no way to enter or stay in a flow state, which is how I'm most productive.
I received this computer when I was hired, and I'm supposed to keep using it for 4 years. If today it's so broken, I can't imagine how it will behave 3 years from now.
A BYOD policy exists, but why should I pay from my own pocket for a decent workstation that the company has an interest in offering?
I can't recommend this company to anyone as long as this hardware policy is kept as it is today. I won't recommend anyone to go through this frustrating experience.
It was just one interview with LPs and one medium LC (Group of Anagrams). The LPs: 1. Describe one time you faced a challenge. 2. Describe one time you received bad feedback.
The interview process was very challenging and thorough. The questions required deep technical knowledge and problem-solving under pressure. While tough, it was fair and tested real-world skills, communication, and adaptability.
Interesting process. First interview in the IT world, pleasant and educational. The first two parts without human interaction were a bit too long, but all in all feasible despite the long and cumbersome duration.
