Technologically speaking, Amazon is still in the 1990s. The infrastructure and the software development tools are too painful to use.
The productivity is super low compared to anywhere else I have worked before, not because of bad people. We have some decent engineers, but the Amazon process and tools are super terrible. It kills people.
If you work for Amazon more than 3 years, you are out of touch with the industry and become cocky, arrogant, and ignorant at the same time.
Nothing can be done, because the company is huge.
