Personally, to enjoy work, I need to be challenged and constantly doing new, interesting things. The startup mentality keeps things fast-moving. AWS has amazing customers and partners working on some fascinating projects. The technology is cool; what you can do with it is even better. There is no shortage of job satisfaction, not something you can say for many IT jobs. Finally, the high hiring bar means everyone you work with will be good at what they do.
Despite being a high-tech company with great technology, video conferencing hasn't caught on yet. So expect travel, not just to meet customers, but also for internal meetings, kick-offs, and training that would, in most companies, be done over Chime, Skype, Zoom, or WebEx.
