Pros

Overall, it's a best company for the environment, work culture, and flat hierarchy. Personally, one should be lucky to have a manager who is 100% following Amazon's policy. You are screwed if the manager bends the rule as he/she wishes. (Though, this happens with most organizations in India even though they are world-class; blame is on the people, not the company.) The same applies to Amazon.

Cons

Amazon is a serious, bar-raising company with total freedom for employees. The benchmarks are raised more frequently, which is definitely challenging for many, thus employees eventually lose work-life balance.

Internal transfer is high-hanging fruit. Most managers do not encourage or support such movements, as they might suffer within the team to get a new replacement resource.

Advice to Management

High-level management should look deep into whether sub-level managers are dealing with their reportees in a healthy manner.
