Pros

Work is challenging. You get to learn stuff and develop a mindset of circumventing complex problems.

Cons

Highly biased management perpetuates the age-old mindset that people who work longer work better. Unrealistic deadlines. The entire org structure feels like it's designed to make developers' lives difficult; almost nothing that you look for is found easily. Collaborations with other teams are an absolute nightmare.

PIP culture: developers are pushed into it for bottlenecks created by upper management/mismanagement of resources. Heavy-handed politics.

Advice to Management

Don't just give employees empty platitudes about making their lives better when all evidence points to the contrary. Stop turning everything into a rat race. You might get short-term benefits, but the long-term effects – high attrition rates – are fooling no one. This has slowly turned into a company where dreams go to die.
