Pros

Working with smart engineers around the world.

Cons

So far, I have worked with two different teams and two different managers.

When you complete 9 out of 10 tasks successfully, managers more often focus on failures. This is clearly micromanagement.

On-call is a really painful role for an SDE.

Advice to Management

Please focus more on success than failure. Be specific about performance review.
