Compensation is ok, but the hours you have to work and the politics you endure are terrible.
- Clean code and test coverage zealots.
- Withhold feedback and pip you with no time to recover.
- Everything is urgent.
- "Deliver results" is the only leadership principle that matters.
- It is no longer Day 1.
- Only add rules/regulations, never remove them.
- Lots of meetings.
Decentralize power to influence the roadmap. Front-line engineers know what's broken. Let them influence what they work on. It will improve morale and improve the products.
