Pros

Compensation is ok, but the hours you have to work and the politics you endure are terrible.

Cons
  • Clean code and test coverage zealots.
  • Withhold feedback and pip you with no time to recover.
  • Everything is urgent.
  • "Deliver results" is the only leadership principle that matters.
  • It is no longer Day 1.
  • Only add rules/regulations, never remove them.
  • Lots of meetings.
Advice to Management

Decentralize power to influence the roadmap. Front-line engineers know what's broken. Let them influence what they work on. It will improve morale and improve the products.
