Every day offers opportunities to learn. With people changing teams fairly frequently, you will never run out of new, interesting work.
Teammate quality varies. The best engineers are the busiest/least available, so getting help when you need it is hard, especially when you're not in person.
In regard to work-life balance: I used to do a 30-minute walk during lunch at my old job. Nowadays, I eat through my lunch breaks. Sometimes you might need to work late to grind out a task without any distractions. However, this is mostly voluntary, and you can take your time back easily.
