People aren't as smart as you think. When the name Amazon comes to your mind, they are just slightly above average or average. This may be due to a poor hiring process.
Seniors still favor processes much more than outcomes.
Because of their frugality, one of the leadership principles, you feel like you are working for a typical MNC, with no freebies or a dull and boring environment.
It's an organization where people try to please each other because if you're very smart, it won't matter. You will not be allowed to go forward with your design; you will have to convince others. And as I said, 'others' are not smart, so smart people can really have a hard time here.
If you cannot feed a team with 2 pizzas, it's too large, as said by your founder, Jeff. This is not followed very well.
Cut down overemployment and hire only quality employees. It's high time that you start matching your employees' standards to those of "Google" or "Facebook".
You pay well, so don't ruin that money with a poor hiring process. Come on, the questions you ask in the interview are always the same; at least come up with something new.
I don't know what goes on in the minds of SDMs or recruiters, but they both try to hire more and more. This attitude is so stupid.
1. Online Assessment Interview Invite to schedule. 2. Hiring Manager Round 2/3 LPs and 2 LeetCode medium problems. 3. Interview with SDE II Half an hour with LPs, and the other half doing a coding question to write maintainable code. 4. Bar Rai
After passing the Online Assessment, you then move on to the Final Loop Interviews, which consist of, but not necessarily in specific order: * Behavioral Interview * Technical Coding Interview (Leetcode style) * Low Level Design interview (OOP)
It went well, with half an hour for leadership principles and the other half an hour for coding and system design. It’s a great experience overall. System design, they expect more clarity.
