Pros
  • Learned a great deal and became a much more seasoned developer.
  • The opportunity to work with professional and talented individuals with great work ethics. My team was very friendly, and we even had a monthly social game session.
  • A nice paycheck with relocation benefits on top of that. Besides, they will send you some swag items, and you get a discount on specific items on Amazon.com.
  • Exposure, as your intern project might require you to reach out to other teams. Nevertheless, you will need to present the final outcome not only to your team but possibly to your whole department.
  • Assuming you completed your intern project well, bagging a return offer is highly likely.
Cons
  • Amazon is full of hardworking people. As such, you will have to up your game to keep up. There is not much room to slack off. If you're aiming for the return offer, give it your best.

  • It might be my personal bias and inexperience, but managing the work-life balance was quite tricky towards the last half of the internship, as the intern project deadline drew closer.
