The sense of value you feel in accomplishing work and contributing to the wider infrastructure that Amazon provides is an amazing feeling.
Some downsides of being at Amazon are mostly related to ramp-up time for new hires. Teams often have a lot of information to learn, and many times new hires are thrown into the fray with not as many chances to reach out to tenured co-workers.
It can be daunting asking for help in a busy workplace, but this quickly lessens with time.
More group ramp-up opportunities for new hires should be considered.
