Poor work-life balance.
Work is clerical in nature rather than cutting edge.
Tech Oversight is prioritized over growth/support.
Extreme variation between teams.
Very high attrition leading to ownership of legacy code.
Micromanagement and distrust between engineers and managers.
Cult-like following of leadership principles, where anything and everything is justified via them.
There should be some company-level principles for employee treatment and experiences.
There's so much variation amongst teams that it's a roulette of bad management for new hires. Amazon is actively repelling new talent due to its reputation. I was warned by colleagues not to join Amazon, and they seem to have been vindicated.
Employees are your customers who buy their compensation/salary by paying their time and labor to the company. Have some "Customer Obsession."
I couldn't reach the interview because I was not able to clear the assessment. In the first question, they asked me a tough question on prefix sum, and the second question was also pretty tough. Even the behavioral round was very lengthy. They asked
