Pros

Access to training if you want to gain AWS experience and can find some free time.

Cons

Managers have no trust for people they don't know.

Many have zero formal management training.

Amazon's disinterest in education in general is a slap in the face to institutions of higher learning.

Advice to Management

Sometimes 'always right' can take more than six months to a year for you to recognize, because it can take time for scenarios to play out. Your employees have made it through the vetting process, so why not give them some room to succeed? If you keep them under your thumb, you guarantee failure.
