A good place to learn how to be an effective engineer
You will have ownership (autonomy and responsibility) over your projects. You will get paid a lot. You'll have to meet a high engineering standard and probably learn a lot.
If you're like me, making a little extra money for Amazon isn't an inspiring mission. Most people just care about their own career growth. Amazon (the product) is hard to change. There is a tower of management above you who need progress reports. Writing "update" communications can take a lot of your time.
Flatten management.
