Good scope, poor WLB during Q3, Q4
There is lots of scope if you are a good performer.
You get to experiment and learn AWS infra.
If you want to grow and are willing to work hard, there is opportunity to excel, but you must also know how to read the political climate.
- Lots of escalations in Q3 and Q4.
- Understaffed teams (or overstaffed with Seniors that don't do anything).
- My team was 20% of people doing 80% of the work. Those 20% had poor WLB.
- Management promised to hire more to reduce the load, but Amazon can't seem to entice top candidates.
