People are generally treated like adults, and you have a lot of leeway to make an impact if you wish. There are still a bunch of based, smart people around that make daily work enjoyable.
Although we try to hire the best people, the codebase is mostly terrible. I bet all the engineers could walk a binary tree, but when it comes to proper architecture, unit testing skills, and best practices, those are all but non-existent. Sometimes, I do see people on other teams mentioning concepts like SOLID; that gives me hope.
Promotions on the Japanese side are a bit hard because the majority of the impactful, juicy projects are on the US side. Another con is that the Woke mind virus has thoroughly infected the upper and mid levels of management. There is an epidemic of virtue signaling, and since we started hiring professional useless people into the local chapter of the DIE cult, the environment has steadily become toxic. Fake Woke narratives are constantly shoved into your face. This will wear you down if you care about truth and actually treating people fairly, based on merit.
Stop with the woke garbage!

Introduction, some info about the project. A detailed explanation for why a particular tech stack was chosen. Two DSA questions were asked, the approach was discussed, and time complexity analysis was done.
I first had to complete an online assessment, which consisted of two Medium-level DSA questions and a series of multiple-choice questions about system design. The OA questions are more challenging than those encountered during the actual interview lo
