Teams place a lot of expectations on interns. Interns are expected to be self-sufficient. Usually, intern projects only serve internal needs.
Since it is daunting for a new employee to dive deep into workplace practices and their project, management should take time to stay in touch and ensure they're comfortable before letting them venture independently.
