The team was very welcoming overall. Pay was $10,512 per month plus a $7k stipend.
Work expectation for the team seems to be 9 AM to 8 PM, ish. Although it isn't enforced if you're an intern (you just won't get a return offer). The expectation seems to get worse and worse the more tenured you are at the company. Most people were in the office past 5 PM, even on Fridays.
I've seen other teams also with overworked hours. There's a lot of pressure on the interns to finish a project that isn't feasible within normal 9-5 working hours.
There are very few in-person intern events for the Sunnyvale area. During my time, there was only one in Palo Alto in the final weeks of my internship, and I met no other interns prior. With a company so big, you'd think they can hire someone to do programming for each major office location. I've heard that this is a common complaint.
Culture is male-dominated. There is no outward harassment, but I've heard sexist comments (such as referring to non-technical talk as "girl" talk), and networking can revolve around male-dominated interests like anime, sports, video games, and cars. Any suggestions for more traditionally female activities for team events (art, crafts, etc.) are shot down.
Couple of OAs about algorithms, debugging, and work style. Followed by a 1-hour final round interview that was on par with LC medium questions. Overall, a pretty standard SWE interview process.
I got unlucky and got a bad interviewer. They wouldn't clarify any of my questions, and it was a very open-ended problem. They seemed disinterested the whole time, so it was already downhill from there.
Overall experience was great, but I don't think I learned a lot from this internship. Okay project. Fun team. Seattle was nice. Pretty high salary for an internship. I don't know how to make this 30 words.
