An educational experience
- Good pay and benefits (even as an intern)
- Ownership: Ask and you shall receive. Interns can push themselves and work on production systems with global impact.
- Working with the best: In general, it's easy to get help from some of the brightest minds in the industry. For example, I had an issue with an AWS tool and was on a call with an engineer on that team the following week.
Can be made stressful, though I brought that on myself by trying to make the most of the situation. Managers have near absolute power, which suited me. My manager was brilliant, to say the least, but from what I've heard from other interns, some are not as good.
