Pros

Great place to develop skills to a high level. Lots of learning and mentoring opportunities. With the right ownership and actions, you can have a big impact on the business. Great benefits, including private health insurance and general health support. Covers relocation expenses. Fair parental leave.

Cons
  • One size fits all return to office policy.
  • Leadership is having constant re-orgs, and people will be moved to other products or reshuffled.
  • The promotion process sucks, is bureaucratic as hell, and has gaps.
  • Talent retention is pretty bad.
Advice to Management

The promotion process tries to be objective and data-driven, but it leaves room to be very subjective.

Opportunities and situations may vary a lot from dev to dev, and people who really should be recognized to reach the next level get delayed in being promoted.

MS steals good developers from Amazon with a lot of ease, since Amazon's mindset is about "being here doing top-level stuff is enough recognition," while other companies are offering better retribution in terms of benefits, salary, stocks, etc.
