Got paid well and became a better engineer as I learned more about how distributed systems/microservices architecture works.
Worked for Alexa during its downfall. Terrible management that only looks out for themselves and is quick to place people in Focus/PIP. Teammates are not usually helpful. The Alexa product and Gen AI migration have a terrible outlook. Five-day RTO on all of this is the cherry on a steaming pile of doo doo.
Strongly reconsider the mandated 5-day RTO and mandated Focus quota.
Applied for the job via the Amazon.jobs website. I was sent an Online Assessment (OA) to complete about an hour after applying for the role. I then took the OA a few days later, which seems to have new changes to combat AI usage during these coding
My assessment included two medium-level LeetCode questions and scenario-based questions.
I haven't passed the hiring process, but I spent time talking to them and think they are a good team. They also required me to be on-site. Mostly, they are interested in your experiences.
