Pros

Get to learn about building scalable systems and operational excellence. You will probably work on software that affects very large systems or a lot of customers.

Cons

Very high turnover, so your manager will probably quit.

Work-life balance is pretty bad; on-call can be very rough depending on the team.

Management and leadership don't really invest in engineer happiness and focus heavily on shipping. Therefore, on-call will continue to be brutal, and you won't get to invest in tooling unless you do it in your personal time.

You'll always have more work than you can reasonably complete.
