People at Amazon are smart and kind.
Frugal is one of the principles that the company advocates, and it follows the principle very well. There is no free food; you have to pay even for soft drinks and snacks. Only free stuff is cheap coffee and tea. The allocated desktop is outdated, and you don't want to do anything on it.
Personnel management is loose: I was not assigned any work until week 3. I was surprised that Amazon is rich enough to hire an employee who does nothing for such a long time.
Sometimes it requires collaboration with other teams, but it's very difficult.
