Pay is good for SDEs.
When I came back from surgery, I was harshly reviewed. After that, my manager planned a secret setup to bring my performance down. Even though I was about to complete my assigned work, he assigned multiple people to do my code reviews, and as a result, my task got delayed. I worked nights and weekends with members of my team to finish things on time, but he still complained that I was late. I did want to consult a lawyer but didn't have the money and resources to do so. I left the company after 8 months of joining.
I know there are many teams at Amazon for an Engineer. See what their managers are doing. Managers use PIP and Dev plan to create a graveyard for Engineers. I left to save my dignity.
