Pros

In the first few years working at Amazon, you will learn a ton about how to design and develop large-scale/high-throughput applications and systems.

Currently having Amazon on your resume means something. Get your 3-4 years in, use the Amazon line on your resume to pass other company's resume filters, and grow your career elsewhere.

No work/life balance issues with just delivering enough to not be the lowest performer on the team.

Cons

The culture at Amazon forces individuals to worry only about their own contributions and not to support others.

The deferred compensation for top-tier performers means that there is no immediate benefit to working hard. You may deliver something very useful, but your compensation will only increase 2-3 years later.
