99% of the people are super nice and willing to lend you a hand. It challenges you to become a better version of yourself. I had a great manager that led me through a successful internship. People truly live by the Leadership Principles; they are not just a poster. Work-life balance is pretty good (this really depends on the team, though at most of them, as an intern, you are not expected to stay after 6pm).
All in all, it's very rewarding to work at "Earth's most customer-facing company."
It would be nice if they served catered lunch. I'm not sure if they do so in other locations (probably not, because frugality), though I know it's logistically very hard due to reduced kitchen spaces in Lux. I would give up lunch vouchers for catered lunch anytime, though I know it doesn't really work that way.
It seems a bit unfair that interns in the US earn around 3x, given that Luxembourg is one of the most expensive countries in Europe. I never really had any trouble budgeting for a month, and I know it's not exclusive to Amazon; internships in Europe usually pay way less than in the US.
Finding accommodation in Luxembourg is very hard. It would be nice to have some help in this regard.
I don't really have anything to say. I had a great manager who truly understood how to lead a software development team successfully.
Single hour interview, fully technical. LeetCode medium question, very similar to LRU Cache. Follow-up questions on run time and space time complexity are asked. Behavioral questions are also possible, though not guaranteed to be asked.
1 hour long: - 45 min technical - 15 min behavioral The interviewer was definitely fresh off the boat, very rude, and hard to understand with a thick accent. I had to keep asking him to repeat himself when he was mumbling.
One OA with two hard questions. One interview. Asked two STAR questions, then one LC medium (median in a data stream). Overall a great experience! The interviewer was super nice. Received the offer within two days.
