For interns, Amazon provides many great opportunities and experiences. There are often free events, and it's set up in a space that allows you to learn. If you're a competitive person, this would be a fantastic place to work.
Also, for interns, they provide lots of structure to learn and grow. It's not a bad way to spend the summer.
As an intern, your team placement will really determine your overall happiness and success. I know several people who did very well and were very happy here at Amazon, but for me, I ran into a lot of problems. Train your managers to be better managers, and don't forget to plan for your interns.
