Pros

Independent and end-to-end ownership for a given tech solution is given to a team. There isn't much bureaucracy, even with a large organization size. It's pretty much like running like startups, with the advantage of a big organization.

Leadership principles take care of the day-to-day noise that one would otherwise face. They provide common ground and yet encourage discordant views.

One does learn a lot every day with diverse and smart teammates, following a peculiar organization culture.

Cons

The distributed service-oriented architecture is a double-edged sword. One team can fast-pace being independent and yet get stuck on another's dependency if their priorities do not align. There is a concept of away team work, but it does come with a price.

Advice to Management

Need to work on getting better alignment across organizations for priorities wherever goals clash.
