Pros

Still quite fun since it allows teams to run more independently with clear ownership and reasonable autonomy.

Cons

Some teams and some work become uninteresting because of the pursuit of keeping things running better, rather than inventing new ways to do the same thing or new things to do.

Management can easily become boring and impersonal when managers are incapable or uninterested in making real positive changes and taking some risks.

Many middle-tier managers should be fired or demoted for that reason.

Advice to Management

Don't just be content with meeting the redefined operational plans. You need to encourage something different and unexpected from your team, and do that with your heart, not the leadership principles.
