Pros
  • Working with talented engineers.
  • In the right teams, there are very interesting technical challenges, and very few places can offer the pace and scale you will find at Amazon.
  • There are possibilities to learn and grow.
  • Internal mobility is a thing and gives you chances to drive your career.
  • Colleagues and line managers are often nice.
  • The pay is quite good, although it is the lowest among the big names in Dublin.
  • There is a very diverse workforce, and everyone is respected.
Cons
  • Politics can bite you depending on the team or organization. For example, promotions are becoming less and less meritocratic and more political.
  • WLB has become a lot worse everywhere in the company in the last two years, with no signs of getting better any time soon.
  • Leadership lacks proper direction and is very uninspiring overall.
  • Cost reduction became too aggressive recently, with layoffs and cost-cutting initiatives everywhere, but the company is splurging on AI.
  • The overall mood and morale among employees is not great and is trending downwards.
Advice to Management

You have lost the trust of the employees. It is going to take a lot now to regain it.
